All clone soldiers were implanted with an inhibitor chip that the Kaminoans claimed to assist in regulating our behavior for compliance so as not to give into any unpredictable nature that our originator may have exhibited. This was not known to any of us, Jedi included, until an incident where a clone trooper terminated a Jedi during a mission. The chips were discovered but explained away as what I have earlier mentioned, and unfortunately everything else was written off as a type of parasitic infection.

When the war looked to be coming to an end by a tactical standpoint, that was when the special order was given, instantly triggering most clones who heard it to follow through without question in executing the Jedi. My squad was for the most part uninfluenced due to our experimental enhancements, but not without some setbacks and close-calls.

You are not wrong. The Jedi do hold a responsibility, and to a degree they maintained it in that they did their best to protect their troops. I do not think we would have been as fortunate under any other authority. And then there is the fact that a clone army had already been made even before the war had officially begun. Specifically created and trained for a singular purpose, I do not know that such a resource would have been wasted, and the Republic had no time to consider alternatives. Everything was executed quite succinctly, timing-wise. With a galaxy-wide war occurring, it served as an excellent cover for ulterior motives.
